The Company's community development commitments focus mainly on water infrastructure, education, health and agriculture for the local communities, and the implementation thereof is rolled out in terms of the Company’s Social and Labour Plan.

Since inception, the Company has contributed to the economy of the Northern Cape by sourcing about 31% of the Company’s direct annual expenditure from locally (Northern Cape) based companies.

To demonstrate the Company’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the local people, more than 70% of the labour force consists of people from the Northern Cape Province.

As a caring corporate citizen, the Company's main objective with its CSI initiatives is to uplift the lives of the most vulnerable (young children and the elderly) in the communities around the mine. Through some of our corporate social investment initiatives, we improve the quality of life of disadvantaged communities.
